The Sewer Division operates, maintains and repairs the City’s sewer collection system to provide safe, sanitary services for City residents and businesses.
The collection system consists of 66 miles of gravity pipe and 10 sewer pump stations. A trestle over the Stanislaus River connects the City's sewer system to the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Sewer Division is maintained by (1) Public Works Supervisor and (5) Maintenance Workers.
If you believe you have a sewer problem, please contact the City Public Works Department first reporting it online at Request Tracker or by calling our office during normal working hours. Our crew will clear the City sewer lines and notify you if the clog is within your property so you may contact a plumber.
You can help avoid clogged drains and overflowing toilets with just a few simple precautions. Please do not put the following objects down the drain or in the toilet as they clog pipes which will cause drains and toilets to overflow:
Feminine hygiene products
